Clearly, before I made my cards this year, I placed an order at All That Scraps. Sinces about 75% of the stuff that I used for my cards this year came from there.
On to Day 5... I love the designer paper from Echo Park that I used on this one, it is probably the reason I consider this card one of my 7 favourites, the different shades of blue with the darker red colour just work so well together.
You cant tell in the picture, but I used the red American Crafts glitter pen on her little scarf to make a plaid pattern... so cute!

A Week Of Christmas Cards - Day 2
The second card for my christmas week was the first card I got to try my american crafts glitter pens, the shimmer they give off is so pretty, I used the red pen to glitter up the berries on the digi as well as on the patterned paper. I just love this image, she was a ton of fun to colour.

A Week Of Christmas Cards - Day 1
So, I figured that for the week leading up to christmas I would (try) and post the 5 of my favourite christmas cards that I made this year.
The first one looks fabulous in real life, I took the time and put a dab of glitter glue on all of the bulbs on the designer paper I used.. Time consuming, but the sparkle it gives looks awsome. Also I used glossy accents on the image for the bulbs, nose and hooves.... adds some nice dimension.

ATS Anything Goes Challenge.
Well, I finally got a chance to finish one of the many cards I have to give out, I have about half of the cards I need about 60% done... really got to get crackin' on these.
I happened to use a C.C. Designs image on this card, then when I checked out the challenge blog, low and behold, its an anything goes challenge.
So I figure why not submit this card. (You can't tell from the picture, but that designer paper I used here has a golden sheen to it.... so pretty. As is all the sparkles on the little ornament she is holding!)

Show & Tell With C.C.Designs
Wow, been a while since my last post. I have been quite busy with work, and in my spare time I have been starting to make my christmas cards. I have about 4 or 5 that are half done, and I will be uploading them soon.
I did manage to make a card for the new show and tell challange over at the all that scraps blog:
"This month the theme is a color scheme. Use Black, burnt orange, and tan in your project. It doesn’t have to be Halloween. Think outside the box but use the colors. "
Since I have been in the christmas card frame of mind I decided to try making a christmas card using these colours for the challenge. Now, in the end Im not entire sure I like the card, but I did have alot of fun making such and "outside of the box" christmas card.

Stamp: Technique Tuesday
Ink: Versamark

ATS Fall Challange
So happy to finally get another chance to play along with the ATS Wednesday challange.. and this week is all about fall.
I decided to try and make a card using a more fall colour scheme since these are not colours I usually gravitate towards. Also, for something a little different for me, I ruffed up the edges a bit of my coloured card stock and inked them for good measure.
Here is the card:
Ingredients:
Digi Image: ATS/CC Designs
CS: Bazzill & Walmart?
DP: Me & My Big Ideas
Flower Punch: Marvy
Glitter: Elmers

ATS Challenge 90, sketch time
Phew.
I always find sketch challenges the hardest. I tend to have very plain and simple layouts, so when I play along with a sketch that has lots of layering or embellies etc. I find it quite difficult.

ATS Inspiration challenge
Over at the ATS Wednesday challenge blog they had a photo up, and we had to make a card based on the inspiration we got from the photo.
The part of the pic that stood out to me the most were the sunflowers that were on the little side table... I really wanted to include that bright yellow in my card.
Also, I wanted to include sunflowers, but since I had nothing of the sort, I used a flower punch, 2 shades of card stock, and a little bit of flock to make my own.
Here is the card:
Ingredients:
Digi Image: CC Designs/ All that scraps
Stamp: The Paper Company
CS: Bazzill
DP: Me and My BIG Ideas
Flower Punch: Marvy
Medium: Prisma Colour Markers, Sakura Gelly Roll Pen
Ribbon: Michaels?

ATS Wednesday Challenge: Christmas in July
Just a quick post with a card I did for last wednesdays challenge over at All That Scraps. The theme was Christmas in July, and I have to admit I felt a little strange making a christmas card in the middle of the heat wave we've been having here in Ontario.
In the end though, I really enjoyed making this card, and I love the adorable 'Trim the Tree' digi from ATS (you can't really tell in the picture but the ornament has sparkley gold bits on it, looks great in real life.)

The Greeting Farm - FFF Digi!
I've finally got another chance to play along (just barely, only 1 1/2 hours left to upload my card) with the Greeting Farms *new* challenge blog and their farm fresh friday challenge.
This particular challenge was pretty much a free for all, the only stipulation is that you had to use one of there digital images.... which is soooo not a problem for me!
I love the little Anya charater that they have, and I especially adore this little cheer leader girl.
So... on with the card:

BLDC13
Just a quick post today for the weekly challenge over at By LORi Designs, it was a colour challenge, and for me it most certainly was a challenge....
I had such a struggle fitting in the orange colour to my card, but eventually It dawned on my that I could just add it to her hair and make her a 'carrot topped' girl.
Unfortunately I had some computer issues earlier in the day, so I didn't get around to photographing the card or uploading it until this evening, and because of that, the picture is a tad darker than usual.
Here are the colours we had to work with:

BLDC12
Made a super quick card for the designs by LORi challenge today.
It was a colour challenge, and I decided since the character is a princess she needed some 'bling', so I added a couple of rhinestones and some glitter glue dots on her dress (not really sure if I like that though).
The layout I've used is a tad different then my usual, I saw it online somewhere (sorry, no idea where) and I liked it on the card I saw, but not entirely sure it works on mine.

Soooo Sick!
Just thought I'd pop in quick to let anyone who wanders by know, that I am still alive, just been suffering for the last week with a horrible cold... But not to fear, I am on the mend. Today was the first day that I haven't felt the need to whine at all about how 'unfair it is that I have to go through this' (I can be a tad bit of a baby when I get sick.) So check back soon for a new post!

Finally got another chance to play along over at By LORi Designs with the weekly challange.
It was a very green colour challenge this week, I didn't have much time to put this card together, but all in all its not too bad.
The colouring took the longest, as per usual. And I haven't quite gotten the hang of using the colourless blender to remove mistakes... so don't look too closely at her, lol!

Club Anya Saturday Sketch #59
HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!!
I have had very little time this week with all the craziness that is going on at work, but finally tonight I had a chance to sit down and make a card for Club Anya & Friends Saturday Sketch Challenge.
I had this little cheer Anya colour for about a week, and I knew she was the image that I wanted to use in my card, but I was suprised to find that I have very few papers with purple in them... Made this an even harder challenge for me.
Luckily I found some stuff in my scrap drawer that worked, some gems I had picked up at the dollar store (though for the life of me I couldn't get them completely straight) and I meant to put on some ribbon, but completely forgot until much of the card was assembled
Here was the sketch we had to work with:
Here was my end result:

FFF-Christmas Scraps
Over at The Greeting Farm blog the farm fresh challenge this past Friday was to use up your left over christmas scraps.
Since I have a TON of scraps left over from this christmas 2010, I thought it was the perfect challenge.
The image I used in this card, I actually used just last week on a wedding/anniversary card for the Club Anya & Friends challenge, but I thought that it would also be perfect for a christmas card.

Club Anya & Friends Satuday Sketch #58
I can't believe this is the second card that I've made today, that never happens! (But I guess that is what happens when you get a day off work, and theres nobody around to interrupt you.)
This card is for the Club Anya & Friends Saturday Sketch Challenge. I have so much fun colouring these images, unfortunately I over estimated the size I needed when I was printing out the digi, so I ended up loosing her little shoes when I punched her out.
Anyways, here is the sketch we had to work from:

CPS 206
Well after a super busy week, I am happy to be able to get a chance to participate in this weeks Card Positioning Systems sketch (#206)... though I am just barely squeaking this card in before the deadline.
What I love about the CPS sketches, is that it really makes me think outside my usual 'go to' layouts that I seem to always end up using.

CPS 204
Another CPS sketch completed.
This week the sketch was actually based on a square card, however, since I don't have any envelopes that are square, and I actually wanted to send this card in the mail this morning, I had to fudge the layout to work with a standard rectangular card. (hopefully this isn't frowned upon.... not entirely sure of the rules.)

Make a Wish!
So yesterday after I came home from work, I got a message saying that my grandfathers birthday dinner had been moved up a week.... to that evening.
Of course I didn't have a card made yet, so I quickly threw one together for him... super easy layout and a quick colouring job (luckily I already had a bday image stamped and embossed) and here is the end result:
